Over the past few years agency leadership has been listening closely to survivors and examining how we can improve our programs to be more supportive, uplifting, and empowering. In light of what we have learned, we changed our approach to our holiday project. Instead of purchasing gifts for a specific family, we are asking supporters to purchase items from our wish list(s). These will be used to create a "store" in our boardroom. Survivors will be able to shop for gifts to give their children, and children will be able to shop for their parent and siblings.
This approach invites survivors to be more involved in the holidays. They will make decisions about what their family would enjoy most and are part of the gift giving process. We hope you will partner with us to provide a joyful holiday season for survivors utilizing our services.
Wish lists are availalbe at Amazon and Walmart. Click the images below to access the lists. Gifts purchased from the lists can be delivered directly to the agency. If you chose this option, please include a gift receipt so we can thank you!
Items can also be delivered to you, or purchased in stores. The lists can be used as a guide if you shop at other stores. To schedule a time to drop off your gifts, or if you have any questions, please contact Ashley Waterbury-Carpenter at 765-643-0218 or awcarpenter@alternativesdv.org.
We can also use gift wrapping supplies! We will be setting up a gift wrapping stations for the families to use.
