Education & Training

Professional Training
Alternatives personnel provide domestic violence and sexual assault training for professionals in the fields of law enforcement; health care; workplace; emergency response; ministry; and education.  Alternatives is certified through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy to provide accredited training hours.

Community Education
Alternatives has speakers available to present to social clubs; civic and church groups; and youth organizations.  Presentations are modeled to fit the needs of the organization.

Employment Training
Alternatives services include an employment training center for residents of our emergency shelter and transitional housing programs.  The service includes basic adult education; Pre-GED; job skills; Certified Nursing Assistant training; and employment search. 

Dating Violence Prevention
Alternatives provides dating violence and sexual assault prevention programs for middle and high school students.  More information on the program can be found here.

Workshops
Throughout the year, Alternatives sponsors workshops on various topics relevant to domestic violence and sexual abuse.  Click here for information on scheduled workshops.
