Position title: Children's Case Manager 
Employment status: Full-Time
Reports to: Chief Program Officer

FSLA status: Non-Exempt
Work site: Residential facility & off-site locations
Wage: $16-$17/hour

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and accessible case management and supportive services for children and families participating in Alternatives Incorporated's residential programs by advocating for children's needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain the confidentiality of participants
  • Provide crisis intervention, trauma-informed supportive services, case management, safety planning, and
  • information and referral
  • Provide and arrange emergency and essential transportation
  • Conduct intakes and assessments; enter data; document service provision; and maintain daily case notes
  • Design and implement educational programming, life skill development, healthy relationship skill
  • development and supportive groups
  • Identify children’s strengths and weaknesses and assess barriers to education
  • Assist participants develop individualized action plans utilizing matrixes
  • Build and maintain networks and support systems for participants
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of homeless children
  • Provide back-up and additional support to other staff as part of a team approach
  • Monitor shelter program operations; assist with cleaning and maintenance of facility when needed
  • Provide services in compliance with all funding contracts, including data and report preparation
  • Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence, homelessness, and child abuse
  • Knowledge of case management, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution techniques
  • Skills in written documentation, and interpersonal communication
  • Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment
  • Ability to remain calm, use sound judgement, and determine specific action under pressure
  • Must hold a valid Indiana driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and good driving record

Employment status: Weekends

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work site: Residential facility and off-site locations
Wage: $13-$17/hour

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and accessible supportive services for residential program participants by responding to crisis telephone calls and maintaining the operations of the emergency shelter program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain the confidentiality of participants
  • Provide crisis intervention, trauma-informed supportive services, safety planning, and information and referral
  • Respond to crisis calls and make decisions about appropriateness of shelter for callers
  • Provide and arrange emergency and essential transportation
  • Conduct intakes and assessments; enter data; document service provision; and maintain daily case notes
  • Provide back-up and additional support to other staff as part of a team approach
  • Monitor shelter program operations; assist with cleaning and maintenance of facility when needed
  • Provide services in compliance with all funding contracts, including data and report preparation
